What is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP)?
An AEP is a university degree qualified allied health professional who specialise in the delivery of exercise, lifestyle and behavioural modification programs for the prevention and management of chronic diseases an injuries.
Exercise physiologists gain accreditation through Exercise and sport science Australia (ESSA) and are required
to abide by a strict code of practice and to participate in continuing education to retain their accreditation.

How long are appointments? :
The first appointment is an initial consultation and assessment which takes 60-90 minutes and review sessions can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes which depends on your condition, goals and program.
After 6-8 weeks you will need to have another assessment sessions in order to progress your program further.
What happens at the first appointment?
At your first session, Kimberley will take a comprehensive history, followed by an assessment based on your goals, needs an history.
Tests may include: range of motion, muscular strength and endurance, balance, aerobic capacity which are essential to your everyday activities and fitness needs. Kimberley has studied many different assessment and screening programs and will use the ones that fit with your needs and goals and will modify for any limitations you may have.
Kimberley has a bachelors in Exercise Science and her Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology an rehabilitation and she combines current research with evidence based knowledge to develop a results based program, tailored to your needs in order to achieve desired results.
You will need to have at least 3 sessions with Kimberley
1. Initial consultation and assessment
2. follow up 1 week later to run through exercises on program
3. 6-8 weeks later you will need to return for a follow up re-assessment and program adjustment
60 minute - Initial Consultation and Assessment - $150
45 minute - follow up review session - $110
45 minute - at home or gym session - $125
30 minute - brief review of program - $75
Exercise Physiology sessions are often covered under private health insurance and you may be eligible for a rebate on your session fees. Please check with your insurer to see if you are covered
Should you have a chronic health condition for which exercise physiology would be of benefit, you may qualify for a rebate under a Medicare health plan, so please consult your GP if this applies to you.
