What is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP)?
An AEP is a university degree qualified allied health professional who specialise in the delivery of exercise, lifestyle and behavioural modification programs for the prevention and management of chronic diseases an injuries.
Exercise physiologists gain accreditation through Exercise and sport science Australia (ESSA) and are required
to abide by a strict code of practice and to participate in continuing education to retain their accreditation.

AEP's also specialise in clinical exercise interventions to help with prevent or manage acute an sub-acute injury and chronic disease to help restore an individual's optimal physical function, health, wellness an quality of life
How many appointments will I need and for how long?
The first appointment is an initial consultation and assessment can take 60 minutes, however if you have multiple health conditions, this may take up to 2 hours.
Your first appointment will then followed by a second appointment a week or two later where you and Kimberley will run through your program recommendations to make sure you are performing the exercises correctly and safely.
After 6-8 weeks you will need to have another full assessment session in order to progress your program further.
In between these sessions you can schedule a review session to discuss your program or run through any exercises you need coaching on.
You can also book a one-to- one training session with Kimberley which many clients find beneficial when starting back to exercise as it helps with building a new routine and increase motivation.
Program Reviews and Run throughs can be 45, 60, 90 or 120 minutes where reviews there is no exercising and run throughs you will be exercising.
What happens at the first appointment?
At your first session, Kimberley will take a comprehensive history, followed by an assessment based on your goals, needs, medical and exercising history.
Tests may include: range of motion, muscular strength and endurance, balance, aerobic capacity which are essential to your everyday activities and fitness needs.
Kimberley has studied many different assessment and screening programs and will use the ones that fit with your needs and goals and will modify for any limitations you may have.
Kimberley has a bachelors in Exercise Science and her Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology and rehabilitation and she combines current research with evidence based knowledge to develop a results and holistic based program, tailored to your needs in order to achieve results.
You will need to have at least 4 sessions with Kimberley
1. Initial consultation and assessment
2. Program run through - going over all the exercises in your program
3. 6-8 weeks later you will need to return for a follow up re-assessment and program run through
4. These timelines are just guidelines as everyone's progressions and outcomes will be different.
What are my appointment Fees?
60 minute - Initial Consultation and Assessment or Reassessment - $150
90 minute - Initial consultation and Assessment or Reassessment - extended - $200
120 minute - Initial consultation and Assessment or Reassessment - complex case - $250
45 minute - program run through - $125
60 minute - program run through - $150
90 minute - program run through - extended $200
120 minute - program run through - complex case - $250
With the above fees it takes into account reviewing videos from the session as well as creating and making adjustments to your program - which can take between 45 - 60 minutes
30 minute - Review - Brief - $75
45 minute - Review - Standard - $110
45 minute - home or gym session - $125
60 minute - Review - Long - $125
The above fees are a review that would include discussing program, new medications, diet, reviewing activity, pain, fatigue or nutrition logs - but does not involve any exercising or program adjustments
What is included in my Fees?
With your Initial Assessment or Reassessment - is 6-8 weeks of online monitoring and email correspondence with Kimberley regarding your program.
Each additional program run through appointment will extend your program and monitoring by 3 weeks to ensure you are staying on track to meet your goals safely.
Program monitoring occurs at least twice daily - in the morning and late evening, to allow for individual's exercise preferences. You have direct contact with Kimberley via the program app in order to monitor pain, intensity and exercise performance.
Can I get a Rebate?
Exercise Physiology sessions are often covered under private health insurance and you may be eligible for a rebate on your session fees. Please check with your insurer to see if you are covered
Should you have a chronic health condition for which exercise physiology would be of benefit, you may qualify for a rebate under a Medicare health plan, so please consult your GP if this applies to you.
However, you will need to pay upfront for all of your appointments and submit a claim to your Health fund or to Medicare after you have paid for your invoice.
