Movement Essentials
During our everyday activities our bodies adapt to what we do most, so if we sit at a desk for work, then our body gets great at sitting. Same thing if we stand all day or if we are doing some repetitive activity like lifting or shoveling .
These long periods of time doing the same thing over and over cause our body (muscles, bodes and connective tissues) to either overwork, under work or completely shut off which can lead to tightness, fatigue and dys- function to the body. When the body is not in harmony it will lead to compensations in our breathing, muscular and skeletal systems and if we do not move our bodies to help balance out these long periods of either sitting or repetitive actions, our body starts to deteriorate.
However, there is great news! We can learn easy ways to help maintain balance to our body systems that will make us both feel and move better. Learning to move in a more efficient and functional way can lead to aches and pains disappearing , sleeping better, having more energy and great improvements to health, well-being and quality of life.
